The Meals Our Mothers’ Made

An evening of community, stories of food and the recipes our mothers (and grandmothers) made. Gather around the fire for a humble feast, bring a dish, a cookbook or recipe to swap or share, along with fond tales of memorable dishes that soothe the soul.

We know that ‘mothering' comes in many forms and food can often sit at the heart of it. We invite you to join us on this Mothering Sunday with your favourite story of a meal or recipe that a maternal figure in your life has made or shared with you.

Conjure up what that meal or recipe means to you, through a story that brings joy, laughter or tears, as we cosy around the fire-pit (weather permitting). Share its magic and maybe its secrets, or, just bring a well loved cook book that’s ready for a new home. Bring a dish to share with your fellow cooks and story tellers so that we may all enjoy our culinary offerings!

It's free to attend but booking is required. Reserve your space here!

This gathering is being hosted as part of the Forest of Dean Fringe programme, with other events happening right across March. Check out their website for the full programme.
